Privacy Policy

A clear account of what Viral Hook Maker collects, what stays on your device, and which services help run the app.

Last updated: July 2, 2026

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how Viral Hook Maker collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our website, mobile app, backend services, and admin tools. References to "Viral Hook Maker," "we," "us," and "our" mean the operator of the Viral Hook Maker service.

For privacy questions or requests, contact us at support@viralhookmaker.com.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: when you sign in with Google, Apple, or another Firebase Authentication provider, we receive information such as your Firebase user ID, email address, display name, and profile photo if provided by the sign-in provider.
  • Account and plan metadata: we store your role, account status, plan, premium status, weekly export counts, bonus exports, export limit information, creation date, and last active date.
  • Hook and export activity: we store which hook video was selected or exported, export status, export quality, whether a watermark was used, source platform, timestamps, and aggregate selected/exported counts for hook videos.
  • App configuration and diagnostics: the app uses Firebase Remote Config to receive configuration such as the backend API URL. Our backend and hosting providers may process technical data such as IP address, device/browser type, request timestamps, error logs, and security events.
  • Website analytics: the website uses Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics to understand page views, referrers, device type, browser, operating system, approximate geography, and how visitors interact with the website.
  • Support communications: if you contact us, we may collect your email address, message contents, attachments, and other information needed to respond.
  • Admin uploads: administrators may upload hook videos and thumbnails. Those files, related titles, language information, notes, and performance metadata are stored for use in the hook library.

3. Video and Media Handling

Your local business footage and final exported videos are processed on your device. The current app is designed so user business clips and final exports are not uploaded to our backend as part of the normal export workflow.

The app may cache hook videos, store your last selected language, and keep a local export history on your device. Local files remain controlled by your device settings and can be removed by deleting app data or uninstalling the app.

If you voluntarily send media to us for support, feedback, or troubleshooting, we may use it only to respond to your request, investigate issues, and improve the service.

4. How We Use Information

  • Provide and secure sign-in, account access, user roles, and admin access.
  • Deliver hook videos, thumbnails, language filters, export limits, and account features.
  • Track free export limits, bonus exports, premium status, watermark rules, and hook performance.
  • Operate, debug, protect, and improve the website, mobile app, backend API, content library, and admin dashboard.
  • Respond to support requests and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, and Viral Hook Maker.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We also do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising based on the current service design.

We share information with service providers that help operate Viral Hook Maker, including Firebase/Google for authentication, remote configuration, and Google Analytics, Apple and Google for sign-in flows where applicable, MongoDB Atlas for database hosting, ImageKit for hook video and thumbnail hosting, Vercel for website hosting and analytics, and infrastructure providers used to run the backend.

We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

6. Ads, Purchases, and Third-Party Services

The current codebase includes placeholders for rewarded ads, pre-export ads, and subscriptions. If third-party ad networks, in-app purchase providers, or payment processors are enabled, their collection and processing practices will also apply, and this policy should be updated before those features go live.

Sign-in providers, app stores, operating systems, and external platforms where you share exported videos may collect information under their own privacy policies.

7. Retention

We keep account information, plan metadata, and export metadata for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. We may keep aggregated or de-identified analytics and hook performance data for longer because it does not identify you directly.

If you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal information where required by law, subject to reasonable time for backups, security logs, legal obligations, and fraud-prevention records.

8. Your Choices and Rights

  • You can sign out of the app at any time.
  • You can control local files, caches, and export history through the app and your device settings.
  • You can request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information associated with your account by contacting support@viralhookmaker.com.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your personal information. You may also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
  • California residents may request information about categories of personal information collected, sources, purposes, categories of recipients, and deletion or correction where applicable. Based on the current service design, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used for California cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Cookies, Tracking, and Do Not Track

The website uses Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics for website measurement. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to help measure visits and interactions. Vercel states that Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies and uses aggregated data for statistics. We do not currently respond differently to browser Do Not Track signals because there is no common technical standard for those signals.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These include Firebase token verification for API access, role checks for admin routes, access-limited backend services, and provider security controls.

No internet or device-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please use a secure device, protect your sign-in account, and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

11. Children

Viral Hook Maker is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. International Use

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws different from your local laws.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide additional notice when required by law. Continued use of the service after an update means the updated policy applies.
